Yukon Camping Area is located in the heart of Maryland's Green Ridge State Forest and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The campground is situated near the Potomac River and offers easy access to several nearby points of interest, including the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park and the Paw Paw Tunnel.

The campground offers a variety of amenities, including fire rings, picnic tables, and potable water. There are no shower or restroom facilities, so visitors must come prepared with their own supplies. The campground operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there are 15 primitive campsites available.

An interesting fact about the Yukon Camping Area is that it was once a logging camp in the early 1900s. Today, visitors can still see the remnants of the old logging equipment that was left behind.

The best time of year to visit the Yukon Camping Area is in the fall or spring when temperatures are mild and the foliage is at its peak. Average temperatures in the fall range from the mid-50s to mid-60s, while spring temperatures range from the mid-40s to mid-60s. Summer temperatures can be quite hot, with highs in the mid-80s.
